What is Lark at Randall?

It’s a high-quality Madison apartment community designed especially with University of Wisconsin students in mind. Lark at Randall features a variety of spacious, furnished apartments plus a full set of community features such as a 24-hour clubroom with gaming stations, fitness center and more. All just steps from campus.

Is Lark at Randall part of the University of Wisconsin?

Can I live with friends, or can you match me with roommates?

You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

What are per-person contracts?

Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Lark at Randall has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom. What is included in the rent?

Each Lark at Randall resident pays a flat rate that includes:

Furnishings
High-speed Internet
Flat-panel TV in living room
Trash removal
Washer and dryer in each apartment
On-site management
Community features – fitness center, clubhouse, etc.

What size are the apartments at Lark?

The spacious accommodations at Lark range from studios to 4-bedrooms, with private bathrooms in all apartments except the 4-bedroom, 2-bath floorplan.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all Lark at Randall apartments have a furniture package including a full-size bed, dresser, bedside table, desk and chair in each bedroom, a sofa, loveseat, end table, coffee table and entertainment stand in each living room. When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 16, 2024 to July 31, 2025, with payments made in 12 equal installments. Other alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff. Click here to see a sample Housing Agreement.

Is a co-signer or financial guaranty required?

Within 7 days after a Housing Agreement is signed, each resident is required to do one of two things: provide a qualifying guarantor (often a parent), or pre-pay the final installment.

Can I pay by credit card?

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Lark at Randall also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.

Will my financial aid cover charges at Lark?

Your living costs at Lark at Randall can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Lark. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.

Is Lark open to non-students?

Nearly all the residents at Lark at Randall are students at University of Wisconsin and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Residents/families with children are welcome. There is no extra cost for minor children in the care of adult residents, other than regular charges for each bedroom space selected by the resident. A minor occupying a bedroom space rented by a parent, guardian or person with legal custody is not considered a breach of the Housing Agreement or a violation of the rules. Lark is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. In order to match student roommates in shared apartments, we will request roommate consent for any non-student occupants.

What kind of safety and security are provided?

Lark at Randall has fire sprinklers and electronic locks, plus individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times. Management staff are also on-site and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.

What are the policies on pets, smoking and guests?

Lark at Randall is pet-friendly, subject to limits on animals and breed. The community is smoke-free in all indoor areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of roommates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.

Can I park my vehicle at Lark?

Lark at Randall offers parking for residents in our underground attached garage.

What other transportation options will I have?

Walk or bike to the adjacent University of Wisconsin campus and downtown Madison. The UW Campus Bus also stops just steps away.

Can I see a model apartment?

Although we do not currently have a model apartment, we offer a virtual tour that can be viewed here. You can also request an appointment for a personal tour, or just stop by to see us and we’ll be happy to show you the community.
